Description
This 3 hour class on Saturdays is based on the union 1958 and 1974 coursework in NYC. It's goal is to provide instruction and a firm foundation to new industrial stitchers in the area to obtain and expand their full employment. It covers the basic industrial methods and systems a stitcher will use in a factory to increase work-flow, create good quality garments, and pull a profit for the shop. This class is a practical hands on class, please wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes and be prepared to sew. Each student will leave the class with course certification, a work portfolio of garments completed, and will help support new local designers to launch their small collections by providing the necessary production capacity for small designers looking to get started in the business who are too small to be served by a traditional factory. You will also be provided with a list of local factories in the area looking to hire stitchers for full-time Mon-Friday hours with benefits.
